What is Ask Donnie?
Ask Donnie is an AI construction estimator and building-code expert for contractors and homeowners. Ask any code, materials, or methods question and get a clear answer cited to the exact code section and scoped to your jurisdiction. Scan a plan and Donnie returns a full, priced estimate. It also creates estimates, invoices, and projects you can share as branded PDF or Excel documents.
Is the information accurate? Can I rely on it?
Donnie is AI assistance you should verify. It cites the code section it relies on, but you must confirm critical details with your local building department (the Authority Having Jurisdiction) and a licensed professional before you build. Donnie does not replace a licensed designer, engineer, or inspector.
How does scanning a plan work?
In the app, take a photo, pick an image, or import a PDF of your plan. Donnie reads the scope and returns an itemized, priced estimate with an accuracy range. You can refine it, then export a professional PDF or Excel document.
How does billing and the wallet work?
Ask Donnie is free to start with a $5 wallet — no card required. A prepaid wallet covers AI usage; you can top it up anytime ($20, $50, or $100). Membership (Pro $150 per month or Business $250 per month) unlocks watermark-free white-label documents, higher limits, and a monthly wallet allowance. In the apps, purchases are handled by the App Store or Google Play.
How do I cancel my subscription or delete my account?
Cancel an auto-renewing subscription in your Apple ID / App Store or Google Play settings. To permanently delete your account and all its data, use Account then Delete account in the app or on the web, or email us. See the account-deletion page for the full steps.
What data do you collect, and do you track me?
We collect only what's needed to run the service — your account, profile, and the content you create — and use it only to provide the app. We do not sell your data, show third-party ads, or track you across other companies' apps or websites. See our Privacy Policy for the full details.
